Working with Chris

Chris has a  warm, understanding and professional  approach.  She provides a supportive environment  for you to explore thoughts, feelings, behaviour, and  experiences.  An important part of the process is teaching you strategies and skills to work through your challenges.

Chris is a  Registered Counsellor  with NZAC. She has trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy,  Person-Centred Therapy and Mindfulness.  She has a Diploma in Counselling,  Certificate in Clinical Trauma Treatment, and is a  Mindfulness Facilitator.

Her experience includes working in a school setting with children and adolescents aged 7 - 18 years,  and working  with  adults and youth with complex life issues as well as mental health challenges.

Now working in private practice, Chris supports  children, adolescents and adults  with a range of issues.

On a Personal Note...
Chris is married to Jamie,  and they have one son,  one cat and two dogs.
In previous years, the family has been involved with providing respite care for children in foster-care.

Prior to re-training as a counsellor Chris worked for 18 years in media and advertising. She still has a love of  design, but loves working with people more, and considers counselling her life purpose.
